📌 Important Terms to Know

Point Spread

Margin a favorite must win by to "cover." Example: −3 means win by 4+.

Money Line

Odds to win outright. Favorites show a minus (−), underdogs a plus (+).

Over/Under (Total)

Bet whether the combined score will be over or under a set number.

Favorite / Underdog

Expected winner vs. the team expected to lose.

Juice / Vig

The sportsbook's commission (typically 10% on most bets).

Push

When a bet ties exactly on the spread or total—your stake is returned.
