Silver Slipper Casino and Diamondhead Community
Move Forward with New Restaurant Venture
Hancock County – September 12, 2008 –Silver Slipper Casino officials and the Diamondhead Property Owners Association (P.O.A.) signed an agreement, August 25, finalizing plans to build a new restaurant at the Diamondhead Yacht Club Marina to replace the one lost in Hurricane Katrina. “The local people and their hospitality make this location such a special place to do business and that is why we love Hancock County,” stated Paul Alanis, Chief Executive Officer of Silver Slipper Casino Venture LLC.
Per the agreement, Silver Slipper officials will design, develop and operate the “Pier House”, a 3,000 square foot restaurant and bar with an open air patio deck overlooking the water. The facility, which will seat approximately 175 guests, will offer casual and comfortable dining for the entire family.
“With this agreement, we’re one step closer to beginning construction on what we feel will be a great opportunity for Silver Slipper Casino and the Diamondhead Community,” said John N. Ferrucci, COO and General Manager of Silver Slipper Casino. “The Pier House Restaurant will not only offer Diamondhead residents and their guests a great dining and bar venue, but will be available to Slipper guests, as well.” Construction is expected to begin soon with a projected completion in the summer of 2009.
Patrons of the Pier House Restaurant will have the opportunity to enjoy the same award winning cuisine and excellent service that the Slipper is known for, as well as receive offers that can be redeemed only at Silver Slipper Casino. And, the Slipper’s guests can enjoy the many amenities of the Diamondhead Community including golf, tennis, the marina and more.
